Vikings win again with response to ESPN error
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - It looks like the Minnesota Vikings will have to return their 2015 NFC North championship banner, because ESPN (the self-proclaimed Worldwide Leader in Sports) says the Green Bay Packers are the defending division champs.
“The Green Bay Packers are defending NFC North Champs. The Minnesota Vikings’ offseason could change that,” said a Facebook post from ESPN, teasing Bill Barnwell’s NFC North offseason report card.
The error was highlighted on Twitter by Vikings fan Adam Carlson, co-editor of the Viking Age and co-host of the Purple People Podcast. The Vikings took a jab at ESPN with a tweet of their own, posting a photo of their NFC North banner with the question, “Guess we should probably return this then, right ESPN?”
ESPN’s offseason report card praised the Vikings for adding depth at offensive line and in the secondary, and gave general manager Rick Spielman high marks for draft day trades with the Miami Dolphins.
