Vikings pass on field goal, Cardinals force game-ending fumble

The Minnesota Vikings came close to pulling off a primetime upset, but instead suffered a heart-breaker in Arizona on Thursday Night Football.

The Vikings could have kicked a third down field goal to force overtime in the final seconds, but instead opted to run one more play. Teddy Bridgewater was sacked and stripped of the ball, and a Cardinals recovery sealed a 23-20 Arizona win.

Adrian Peterson had 4 carries for 38 yards on Minnesota’s opening drive, ending with his 100th career touchdown. But the Cardinals held Peterson to a total of just 69 yards on the night.
