Teddy Bridgewater's knee surgery a success, Mike Zimmer says

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s knee surgery Thursday was a success, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

According to a Vikings statement, Zimmer received a call from the doctor, who told him the surgery went well and no additional structural damage was found on Bridgewater’s knee.

Bridgewater dislocated his knee and tore his ACL during practice on Aug. 30. The Vikings say the 23-year-old faces a long road of rehabilitation, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Zimmer said he was in communication with Bridgewater over the last few days, but has not talked to him since the surgery.
