A sweet gesture from a group of Minnesota fourth graders moved the wife of New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead's wife to tears, the athlete wrote Friday on social media.

A fourth grade class in Detroit Lakes, clad in Vikings purple, made a video thanking Morstead for teaching them "an awesome lesson in sportsmanship" during Sunday's playoff game.

Morstead was the first Saints player to come back out onto the field to defend the NFL-mandated point-after-touchdown attempt at the end of Sunday's game. Morstead suffered torn cartilage on the right side of his ribs during the game, but continued playing.

Inspired by Morstead's sportsmanship, the fourth graders pooled together $64 to donate to his foundation, What You Give Will Grow. In total, Vikings fans have donated more than $200,000 to the foundation in less than a week.

"How can I meet this class. Just made my wife cry," Morstead tweeted.

The students ended the video with a cheer that combined the Saints' "Who Dat" cheer and the Vikings "Skol" Chant.

Morstead plans to return to Minneapolis during the Super Bowl to present a donation to Children's Minnesota's Child Life Program.
