Vikings cut John Sullivan, trim roster to 75 ahead of preseason finale

The Minnesota Vikings released veteran center John Sullivan on Tuesday, cutting the team's roster down to 75 players ahead of Thursday's preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams.

“Our entire organization appreciates everything that John Sullivan has done for this franchise," Vikings general manager Rick Speilman said. "Sullivan led our team, not only with how he played the game, but also with how he handled himself in our community. We wish John Sullivan and his family nothing but the best as they move forward.”

A pair of former Gophers - defensive end Theiren Cockran and wide receiver Troy Stoudermire, were also waived.
