EAGAN, Minn. (KMSP) - Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has been making the most of the off-season.
Zimmer hit the turf at the TCO Performance Center Saturday with several Vikings players to train the next generation of football players.
The Mike Zimmer Foundation is hosting a youth football camp over the weekend. During the camp, Coach Zimmer and other coaches provide hands on instruction as they run through drills with a variety of age groups.
On top of football tips, the kids are also educated on the importance of health and nutrition.
The foundation aims to give back to the youth of Minnesota and helps promote the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle to young children.
Zimmer said it was a pleasure to work with the young athletes. Linebacker Anthony Barr joked that he’s never seen Zimmer look so happy while coaching.
