MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The Cleveland Cavaliers won their first NBA championship in franchise history after rallying from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors in Game 7. No team has ever done this. (Totally rigged, right? Especially that game-saving LeBron James block. And when he fell on his wrist and missed an important free throw. And his lackluster shooting in general.)
Anyway, guess who has yet to win a title? Minnesota, of course. However, last night, it was clear this Timberwolves squad, particularly the league's Rookie of the Year, was hungry for a win of its own.
“I need that feeling,” Karl-Anthony Towns tweeted as tears poured down LeBron’s face and ex-Timberwolves forward Kevin Love doused himself in beer like Stone Cold Steve Austin.
It’s not the first time in franchise history the Wolves have had cause for optimism, but it sure has been a while. Here’s what Towns and the pack had to say:
