Mike Zimmer returns to coaching duties following eye surgery

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - The Vikings announce head coach Mike Zimmer has returned to his coaching duties and plans to travel with the team to Jacksonville, Florida for Sunday's game.

Zimmer had eye surgery Wednesday night and had to miss Thursday night's game against the Cowboys.

There was concern that Zimmer wouldn't be cleared to fly to the game in Jacksonville this weekend due to the air pressure of a high-altitude flight and he was actually planning to drive more than 1,000 miles to make it.

Vikings General Manager, Rick Spielman released this statement Monday moring,

"Mike Zimmer has returned to his coaching duties and is expected to travel with the team to Jacksonville for this weekend's game."
