If you think Kobe Bryant is ready for retirement, think again. The Laker great is going from the NBA to his own company, without missing a beat.

Kobe Inc. is already in place and preparing for projects that include lots of storytelling. Kobe seemed super excited about this next step in life. His team was behind his documentary Muse that aired on Showtime. Now Kobe wants to tell more stories with a sports theme. He says he's been bitten by the writing bug.

I caught up with Kobe Bryant before a recent game. He was suited up in a business suit due to injuries. He admits, the body says its time to retire from the demanding game of professional basketball. Standing tall in a dark suit and tie Kobe talked about being an entrepreneur. Kobe Inc. already has office space in Newport. After our interview Kobe watched the game as his teammates took to the court.

If it looks like Kobe Bryant is at peace on his farewell tour he is. He says he has yet to feel sad, but admits it may not have hit him yet. While fans may miss the five-time NBA Champ know we haven't heard the last of Kobe. His family foundation focuses on youth programs and he has a passion for helping the homeless.

On this day, we also shot a Wednesday's Child foster care story. Kobe came equipped with a pair of new kicks and autographed the shoes on the spot. Over the years, Kobe has done several segments with children in foster care. He says he remembers what it was like to meet his idol as a child.

Kobe Bryant has his share of fans and critics on and off the court.  The 18-time NBA All-Star stars as an NBA player for just a handful of games.
