Former University of Minnesota Gophers football head coach Jerry Kill was recently named the new offensive coordinator for Rutgers University, another school in the Big Ten conference.
Scarlet Knights head coach Chris Ash made the announcement official on Monday.
Kill spent five seasons as head coach of the Gophers before retiring in 2015 for health reasons. Kill, who was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2005, said he was advised by his doctors to retire from football for the sake of his long-term health.
Most recently, Kill has served as associate athletics director of administration at Kansas State, where he oversaw the football program.
Minnesota is set to play Rutgers in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2019.
