Former Cretin, Holy Angels athletes have shot at Super Bowl 50

The Minnesota Vikings are out of the playoffs, but there are still a few local guys who have a shot at a Super Bowl ring.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a Minneapolis native who got his start playing for Holy Angels Academy in Richfield.

Fitzgerald’s former coach says it was obvious even then that he would eventually play in the NFL.

"I knew almost immediately, he played in high school like a professional player,"

But Fitzgerald isn't the only Minnesotan playing for Arizona. St. Paul native Michael Floyd is another top receiving target in Phoenix, who showed off his early football savvy across the river from Fitzgerald at Cretin-Derham Hall.

But even if the Cardinals don't win on Sunday, there's still a chance to see a Cretin-Derham Hall player in the Super Bowl. Ryan Harris, who starts on the offensive line for the Denver Broncos will be heading to Super Bowl 50 if his team beats the New England Patriots.
