After 3rd consecutive loss, Vikings to work out kickers on Tuesday

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer says the team will take a look at free agent kickers. The move follows the Vikings' third consecutive loss, which included a missed extra point and missed field goal by Blair Walsh in Sunday's overtime loss to the Detroit Lions.

Zimmer hasn’t said who, but confirmed he plans to have kickers visit the team facility on Tuesday.

"We have to look at all avenues as far as what gives us the best opportunity to win football games," Zimmer said at a press conference on Monday.

When asked about the chances of the team signing a new kicker, Zimmer said, "I don't know. We'll see."

Walsh has missed three extra points and is 12 of 16 on field goal attempts this year -- the most in the NFL. The 26-year-old is in his fifth season in the NFL, all with the Vikings.

The Vikings are now 5-3, still leading the NFC North. The Vikings play at Washington in Week 10.
