MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Standout DeLaSalle High School shooting guard Gabe Kalscheur threw on a Minnesota Gophers hat in front of an excited crowd at the school's gymnasium, announcing his commitment to the Gophers.
Kalscheur will be a senior this fall at DeLaSalle. He says he solidified his decision to become a Gopher last week.
"It was a night after I sat down with my parents for awhile and we talked about the process and it was coming to a close and I really the love and the connection and the trust between the coaches not just toward me, but also my family," said Kalscheur.
Kalscheur says he feels he would fit in well on Coach Richard Pitino's offense and that he's a "piece they're missing."
He is the third local player from the class of 2018 to make a verbal commitment to the U of M.
