Severe weather scatters Minnesota high school football games

- At least 55 high schools across Minnesota have pushed up the start time of Saturday’s football games because of severe weather concerns.  The marquee matchup of Eden Prairie vs Totino-Grace is sticking to its 7 p.m. scheduled kickoff.

Saturday weather timeline

4:00 p.m. - Storms develop in extreme western Minnesota ahead of a cold front, then grow and form a line that will take aim on the Twin Cities metro.

8:00 p.m. - Storms approach western metro and move through the area by midnight.

Key risks - As storms form into a line, the main concern is strong wind and large hail and frequent lightning. As with any supercell thunderstorm, there is a possibility of an isolated tornado.
