Workers dangle from 52nd floor after scaffolding breaks at Wells Fargo Center

Two workers were dangling outside the 52nd floor of the Wells Fargo Center in Minneapolis after scaffolding broke loose on Wednesday. The Minneapolis Fire Department was called in for a technical rescue at 90 7th Street South Wednesday afternoon, and the workers were pulled to safety through a 50th-floor window.

Minneapolis fire crews secured the scaffolding by about 2:30 and began to clear the scene. Officials confirmed the workers didn't require medical attention and will be going back to work on Thursday.

The scaffolding somehow malfunctioned while the workers were repairing something, and one side fell down. The workers were able to stay upright until help arrived.
