Woman suffers serious injury in Frogtown St. Paul drive-by shooting

A 19-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after she was shot in the back during a drive-by shooting in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., at the intersection of Western Avenue North and Minnehaha Avenue West, a car pulled up next to the car and shot into the vehicle. The bullet went through a car seat, striking the woman in the back.

According to St. Paul police spokesperson Steve Linders, the woman was one of several passengers in the car. She was the only one injured.

The driver took the woman to United Hospital, and she was later transported to Regions Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

St. Paul police are investigating the incident.
