Authorities in Duluth helped rescue a young bobcat from inside a convention center on Tuesday after a man chased it into the building and cornered it in a hallway.

Duluth police say the man was experiencing a mental health crisis when he chased the bobcat inside the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center. Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Wildwoods wildlife rehabilitation center got the bobcat safely into a live trap. The bobcat was not injured.

The bobcat was “very stressed out from the encounter with humans and has been transported to a facility for monitoring before it will be released into the wild,” Duluth police wrote on Facebook.
