The City of St. Paul will temporarily close Water Street as a precautionary measure due to forecasted high water levels.

The closure goes into effect Monday at 6 p.m. Water Street/Lilydale Road will be closed to vehicle traffic between Highway 13 and Plato Boulevard. The city closed this section earlier this year because of spring melt flooding.

Visitors will still be able to access to the Pool and Yacht Club and Harriet Island.

The Mississippi River is not at flood stage, currently measuring at about 11 feet deep.
