Violent attack left Roseville man in ditch for 36 hours

Police in Roseville, Minn. are looking for more information about a violent attack that left a 28-year-old man critically injured and lying in a ditch for an estimated 36 hours.

What they know

Arrival at the park: Ismail Jama drove to Autumn Grove Park sometime on Monday, Dec. 22 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 10:50 p.m.

Attack: Evidence suggests Jama exited and locked his Sonata, then entered the park where he was assaulted near the tennis courts.

Discovery: At approximately 11:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, a resident of the Autumn Grove Park neighborhood was in the park with his family when he found Jama lying in a drainage ditch and not moving. The resident immediately called police for help.

Victim's car: Investigators found Jama's 2013 Hyundai Sonata parked and unoccupied near the Autumn Grove Park entrance.

Victim's condition

Jama is in critical condition and unable to communicate with police detectives.
