Vikings open new 'Mothers' Room' ahead of home preseason finale

- The Minnesota Vikings opened a new Mothers’ Room just ahead of the team’s final home preseason game Friday against the Seahawks.

According to a release from the Vikings, the Mothers’ Room “further enhances the inclusive experience at U.S. Bank Stadium.”

The suite complements the four Mamava lactation suites, which are currently used more than 50 times per game.

The Mothers’ Room is 154 square feet and seats up to four women. It has two private nursing areas, a changing table with supplies, seating and toys for toddlers and a television so moms can keep up with the game action.

“When we launched the partnership with Mamava in 2015, we acknowledged it was a first step in our effort to create a positive experience for nursing mothers at Vikings games,” said Vikings Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren. “Having witnessed the positive response and increased demand for the lactation suites, we strongly believed the addition of the Mothers’ Room was another critical step in building a family-friendly environment at U.S. Bank Stadium.”

“I am so proud of our organization for directly responding to fan feedback and taking this significant step,” said Director of Vikings Women Tami Hedrick. “We are making Vikings game days even more inclusive by adding a dedicated, comfortable and private space for nursing mothers to utilize at U.S. Bank Stadium.”

“With this addition of the Mothers’ Room, the MSFA is proud to support mothers at all events at U.S. Bank Stadium,” said Michael Vekich, chair of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority. “Providing a quiet, clean space for nursing mothers is an amenity that makes our stadium unique and more welcoming.”

Fans can locate the Mothers’ Room and the four Mamava suites on the Vikings mobile app once inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
