Vikings draft German WR Moritz Boehringer

- The Minnesota Vikings made history Saturday with their sixth round draft pick, German wide receiver, Moritz Boehringer.

The 22-year-old has only been playing football for about five years and none of those years were at a collegiate-level. He's the first to ever be drafted by an NFL team straight from a European team.

Boehringer previously played for the German Football League’s Schwabish Hall Unicorns. He won the German Football League’s Rookie of the Year Award. His name eventually caught the eyes of the NFL and his performance at his pro day caught the attention of several NFL teams.

He ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash and a 4.10-second 20-yard short shuttle.

He became interested in football after he watched an Adrian Peterson video on YouTube – and the Vikings quickly became his favorite team.
