The Vikings say fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 7:00 p.m. The gates at U.S. Bank Stadium open at 5:00 p.m. The team also wants fans to stay in their seats during halftime for a performance.

Even if you don’t have tickets to the game, there will be a Back to Football Bash starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Delta Vikings Village and the Commons greenspace between Fourth and Fifth Streets and Portland and Park Avenues. The Commons area is alcohol-free and will have youth activities and a live concert from 3:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and the Delta Vikings Village will have a live concert from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a beer garden.

Vikings players will warm up with a live DJ performance from St. Paul native, DJ Skee starting at 6:30 p.m. Shortly after 7:00 p.m. a “Welcome Home” video will play on the video boards inside the stadium and will be narrated by former Vikings wide receiver Ahmad Rashad.

The Minnesota Orchestra and music director Osmo Vänskä will perform an extended halftime ceremony. The eight minute performance will celebrate Vikings fans, Minnesota history and Prince.

“We were honored when the Vikings invited the Orchestra to be part of this game experience,” said Minnesota Orchestra President and CEO Kevin Smith. “The Vikings’ home opener at U.S. Bank Stadium is a major event in Minnesota, and we couldn’t be more proud to help mark the occasion and celebrate with music.”
