U of M student punched in face, robbed by group of teens

A group of teens robbed a University of Minnesota student near the University Village Apartments in Minneapolis, according to a timely warning sent out to university students and staff.

Monday around 7:30 p.m. the student was walking to his apartment when a group of five people stopped him. The student told police the suspects were all males and appeared to be about 15 to 18 years old.

One of the suspects made it seem he had a gun while another suspect punched the student in the face. One suspect took his valuables and the group ran away toward University Avenue SE.

The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the case.
