On Aug. 11, Phillips' BMW pulled into a Holiday gas station off Highway 96 in Arden Hills. Witnesses heard an argument between the two and saw Phillips run out of the car. Hoffman then allegedly shot him twice, and again in the back of the head from nearly point-blank range.
After being on the run for nearly a month and allegedly robbing a bank and laundering dye-stained money at a casino slot machine, Hoffman was captured in the drive-thru of an Arby's in Shakopee, Minn.
