Turkey, bee cause 2 Wis. motorcycle accidents

Two Minnesota motorcyclists cruised the great outdoors over the weekend in Pierce County until Mother Nature got involved.

Motorcycle v. Turkey

On Saturday at 10:17 a.m., a turkey flew across the road and struck a 50-year-old Lake City, Minn. man on the head as he rode his Harley on Highway 35 in Trenton Township. He collided with a 74-year-old Apple Valley, Minn. man traveling in a Subaru Outback along the highway, and both were transported to Mayo Red Wing Hospital with unknown injuries.

Motorcycle v. Bee

On Saturday at 12:14 p.m., a 52-year-old Brainerd man was driving his motorcycle on Highway 35 east of 135th Avenue in Bay City, Wis. and had an allergic reaction after being stung by a bee. He ended up in the south ditch and was taken to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing with unknown injuries.
