TOP TEACHER: Robert Gamache, Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts

ANOKA, MInn. (KMSP) - Fox 9 is honoring the Top Teachers before the school year gets out.

The second teacher honored this year is Robert Gamache, who is a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts in Anoka, Minnesota.

Lisa Grabau, a parent of one his students, nominated him for the award, describing him as an "adaptable, fun-loving, hardworking, open-minded teacher, who is wonderful, kind and supportive."

He goes the extra mile teaching an afterschool literacy program called Neighborhood Bridges, which uses storytelling and drama to develop reading and writing skills.

He also knows how to have fun. He incorporates music into his lessons and steps up for dunk tank and pie-in-the-face fundraisers.

As a Fox 9 Top Teacher, Gamache receives a $900 Royal Credit Union for classroom supplies, a Subway sandwich party for 50 friends and a Top Teacher award for his desk.
