Thursday attendance breaks record at Minnesota State Fair

Thursday was another record-breaking day for attendance at the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

The attendance for Thursday was 156,764, breaking the previous record of 155,183 set in 1995.

This is the fourth attendance record set at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

Thursday, Aug. 23 set a new attendance record for Opening Day, with 122,695 people passing through the gates on what is historically the lowest-attended day. Records were also set on Saturday and Wednesday.

The all-time single day record still stands, however. It was set on the second Saturday of the 2016 fair with an attendance of 260,374 people.
