Orphaned bobcat kittens find new family in Minnesota

The bobcat kitten that lost her family after they were hit by a car in Duluth, has a new family.

The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minnesota searched for another bobcat family for the orphan named, Autumn.

They were able to find two bobcats in Arizona who were also in need of a home. The two brothers arrived at the sanctuary a few days ago and were introduced to Autumn.

Sanctuary Director Tammy Thies said, “We’d love it if no other bobcat was ever in need of rescue.  But we’ve been in this industry a long time, and know there will always be more wild cats that need our help.  So, if we could offer a home to more bobcats in need and create a family for Autumn, that was the right thing to do.”

The two bobcats from Arizona are brothers and only a few months older than Autumn. The Sandstone sanctuary says the three kittens have been inseparable.

Thies said, “We’ve already seen Autumn come out of her shell. What used to be a scared little bobcat kitten, afraid of humans, is now romping through the grass after her new brothers.  And our hearts melted the first time we saw them all napping in a pile together.  If they couldn’t grow up wild, this is the next best thing.”
