Over 100,000 people showed up for the final day of "Red Bull Crashed Ice" in St. Paul on Saturday, where Minnesota-native Cameron Naasz became the first American to win the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship.

Former hockey player Naasz, of Lakeville, snatched the title away from Canada’s Scott Croxall by just inches in the very final race at the very end of the 10-stop season.

“It feels amazing,” Naasz, of Lakeville, said “Let’s go Minnesota. It was a crazy season. The battle couldn’t have gone on any longer. I don’t know how I did it. I knew Scott was right behind me so I didn’t hit the brakes and went for it.”

When Naasz first made his Red Bull Crashed Ice debut in St. Paul in 2012, the sport was dominated by Europeans and Canadians.
