Third straight Thanksgiving with snow

As warm as this November has been, the last thing you would likely expect would be to have a white Thanksgiving, but that’s exactly what happened.  There was a good two inches of snow on the ground at MSP Airport as we awakened Thursday morning which means that it was officially a white holiday.  On average, 4 out of 10 Thanksgivings are white in the metro, which is one of the highest rates in the country.  But we’ve even surpassed average the last few years as this was the third Thanksgiving in a row, and fourth in the last 5 years where it has snowed on the holiday.  While all were not officially considered “white”, we have certainly seen plenty of flakes on the holiday since 2010.
