T-shirt experiment showcases the danger of the subzero freeze

How cold is it in Minnesota? FOX 9 put it to the test.

FOX 9's Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard did the classic T-shirt experiment to showcase how dangerously fast the cold will freeze items in this extreme weather.

Around 9:25 p.m. Tuesday night, he hung a wet T-shirt outside. Five minutes later, the shirt was frozen solid.

Dangerous wind chills of 45 below to 65 below zero are expected from Tuesday night through Thursday morning. A Wind Chill Warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. on Thursday. When wind chills drop to 40 to 50 degrees below zero, frostbite is possible in less than five minutes.
