Police investigating 'suspicious death' in south Minneapolis

Minneapolis police are investigating what they're calling a "suspicious" death near a Target store on East Lake Street.

At 8:51 a.m. Wednesday morning, police respond to a report of unresponsive adult man behind a building at 2500 E Lake Street. Medical personnel and police arrived and confirmed man was dead.

Police said it appears he may have been the victim of an assault, and are interviewing potential witnesses. The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will later release the man's identification and official cause of death.
