Deadly, intentional Minneapolis hit-and-run suspect arrested

A 37-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Minneapolis.

The suspect, 20-year-old Tristen Baier was booked into Hennepin County Jail for probable cause first degree assault. Minneapolis police say he will likely face additional charges now that the victim has died. 

Officers believe Baier intentionally struck the victim with a vehicle shortly after 11 p.m. on the 2900 block of Portland Avenue S. 

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with significant injuries, and died on Monday. The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office has not yet released the victim’s name and official cause of death.
