Saturday is the final night for one of winter’s most popular attractions—Stillwater Ice Castles will close for the season.

The final group of people will be admitted to the ice castle Saturday night at 10:30 p.m.

Tens of thousands of people have visited the ice castles this season.

The castles were made from 25 million pounds of ice and continued to grow throughout the season as icicles were added.

“We grow 10,000 icicles a day,” said Amanda Roseth, the manager of the castle told Fox 9 when the ice castle opened.

Last year was the first year the ice castle was located in Stillwater. By the end of February 2017, the weather was too warm and the castle had to close before it melted away.

Minnesota saw colder temperatures in 2018, helping the ice castles to stay open longer than in previous seasons.
