HAYWARD, Wis. (FOX 9) - A pickup truck crossed the center line of Highway 63 near Hayward, Wisconsin Monday morning and hit an oncoming car, killing the 18-year-old driver from St. Paul, Minnesota.
The Ram pickup, pulling a car trailer with a car on it, was traveling southbound when the driver lost control and crossed into the northbound lane, striking a Subaru heading north, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The driver of the Subaru, identified as Henry Zietlow, died in the crash. His passenger, a 51-year-old St. Paul woman, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup, a 23-year-old man from Deer Park, Wisconsin, has life threatening injuries.
Authorities believe road conditions may have caused the crash. The State Patrol is continuing to investigate.
