Police are searching for the St. Paul Almanac's Storymobile after it was stolen early Tuesday morning, according to a release.

The distinctive red trailer, along with an electric solar bike, were taken from the 400 block of Marshall Avenue in St. Paul, with authorities urging anyone with information to call the St. Paul Police tip line at 651-291-1111.

St. Paul Almanac uses the trailer as a mobile base to record people's stories around town in multiple formats using iPads, cameras, microphones and keyboards, as well as pencil and paper. It's a vital part of the organization's commitment to promote the voices of diverse people in order to shape the community at large, according to its website.

The effort, which began in June 2016, is also a part of the Digital Public Library of America.
