You won't see this event at the Olympics next month.

A Minnesota native and his collegiate skydiving team recently won gold at the U.S. Parachute Association National Collegiate Parachuting Championships last week.

Joe Wilde of St. Paul is a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. His team, Air Force Storm, beat out the competition in the 4-way Open Formation Skydiving event. During this event, a team of four jumps two miles above the Earth and races to complete a set of geometric formations before pulling their chutes.

More than 80 collegiate skydivers participated in the championship meet, which took place at the Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales.
