The Barron County sheriff's office is reminding drivers to slow down after a squad was hit by another car Friday afternoon in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Around 2:30 p.m., a sheriff's deputy had his emergency lights on and was blocking a lane of traffic on Highway 53 at the Chetek exit, slowing down cars for another crash that was being pulled out by a wrecker. While he was waiting, his squad was hit by someone who was passing a car that slowed for the accident.

There were three people in the van that struck the squad, all of whom were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is being handled by the Chetek Police Department and the Chetek Fire Department assisted in keeping with this crash.

Authorities remind drivers that you need to slow down and move over when you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road, or you could be cited for failing to move over for emergency vehicles.
