Treasure Island Resort and Casino donated nearly 4,000 pounds of ham to help families in need Wednesday.

The Minnesota Twins' TC Bear helped Treasure Island with the delivery. Together they delivered hundreds of hams to Sharing and Caring Hands, as well as the Interfaith Action Department of Indian Work, with hopes of brightening Easter Sunday for families in crisis and need.

"I don't think the world has any idea; most people can just go to the store and shop and pick up a ham," said Mary Jo Copeland, the founder of Sharing and Caring Hands. "These people can't do that, so this is why this is an unbelievably generous donation."

Sharing and Caring Hands houses homeless people and serves low-income families. The organization relies on donations of both time and money.

Interfaith Action Department of Indian Work helps meet the needs of the American Indian community in Ramsey County and has helped feed more than 2,000 people in the community.
