PHOTOS: Severe storms cut through Brainerd, Minn.

- Severe storms Sunday evening brought softball-sized hail and left a path of destruction near Brainerd, Minn.

In Crow Wing County, sheriff's office dispatch officials say they've received several reports of severe weather-related injuries and property damage. Officials will work with the National Weather Service Monday to determine of the damage was caused by a tornado.

NWS reported tornado sighting at 6:30 p.m. a few miles northeast of Staples and at 6:54 p.m., a funnel cloud was reported a few miles south of Nisswa. Near Crosby, another funnel cloud was seen at 7:07 p.m.

Dispatch officials said a large tree fell on a home in Deerwood Township. Emergency crews had to help free three people trapped inside, but their injuries are unknown.

Crews also had to respond to another home in Deerwood Township on Placid Drive where a person was trapped inside due to a downed tree.

Warning sirens went off about 25 minutes before the storm made it to Crow Wing County.
