A school bus carrying 20 students crashed into three parked cars before stopping just short of the post office along E. Minnehaha Avenue in St. Paul early Monday.  The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Birmingham Street.

No serious injuries were reported, but two students and an adult aide were transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons. The K-5 students on the bus were headed to West Side Summit charter school.

St. Paul police said the bus lost control, sideswiped three parked cars and came to a stop just before hitting the post office on the northwest corner of the intersection. The bus lost an axle during the accident.

Police shut down both directions of Minnehaha Avenue to investigate the crash. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.
