Pond Hockey Championships embrace freezing temperatures

The cold temperatures may not be welcomed by all Minnesotans, but they definitely make for great ice at this year's North American Pond Hockey Championships.

Play kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday.

Event organizer Jay Lindsay says the tournament is going great so far and that the teams and athletes don't mind the cold.

See the touching story behind how the championship became a nonprofit and why a bean bag tournament has endured as part of the tradition of the event.

The tournament also raises money for the Hendrickson Foundation, which supports hockey programs in Minnesota for players with disabilities.
