(KMSP) - Republicans will keep their majority in the Minnesota Senate after Tuesday's election.
The Senate was left deadlocked at 33-33 after now Lt. Gov. Michelle Fischbach vacated her seat earlier this year. Republican state Rep. Jeff Howe beat Democrat Joe Perske, a county commissioner in the special election to fill Fischbach's seat. The seat was the only one up for grabs this year.
The GOP now have a 34-33 majority in the Senate.
