ROSEVILLE, Minn. (FOX 9) - A woman’s ex-husband stabbed her and her friend while they were spending the night at Motel 6 in Roseville, Minnesota, police said Thursday.
At 6:45 a.m., officers with the Roseville Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance at the motel on the 2300 block of Cleveland Avenue South after witnesses reported seeing a woman covered in blood running from one of the rooms.
When officers arrived, they found the women, ages 24 and 20, had been stabbed several times. A three-year-old child, who was also in the room, was not injured.
According to police, the 24-year-old victim, her friend and her young child had spent the night at the motel. At some point, the 24-year-old woman’s ex-husband, a 23-year-old Eden Prairie man, showed up at the motel and reportedly stabbed both women multiple times with a knife before fleeing the scene.
The officers searched the area and found the suspect a few blocks away. He was taken into custody. Police do not believe there are any other suspects.
Both victims were treated for stab wounds, but their injuries are non-life threatening.
The assault remains under investigation. Police said there is not threat to the public.
