The suspected driver of a stolen vehicle who led Sherburne County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase is still missing.

Authorities say 38-year-old Jeremiah Harvey Schwarzkopf is the suspected driver.

Thursday morning in the city of Clear Lake, a deputy in an unmarked vehicle started following a 2014 Jeep Patriot that was reported stolen out of St. Cloud. The vehicle eventually stopped in the driveway of a home in the 8800 block of 71st Street in Clear Lake Township.

Other deputies arrived, but the driver refused to listen to commands and crashed into an unmarked squad, went through a ditch and sped off.

The vehicle eventually drove through a cornfield off 90th Avenue. It continued through a bean field, crossed County Road 55, went through another corn field and then crashed into a row of trees.

The male driver and a female passenger ran away from the crashed vehicle and multiple agencies began searching for them.

Later that evening, police received a tip the two were walking without shoes on near the 7000 block of 100th Avenue Southeast and were asking for help.

Friday morning deputies received a call of a suspicious female in the 7200 block of 100th Avenue Southeast. Deputies arrived and arrested the 24-year-old woman.

Anyone with information on where Schwarzkopf might be is asked to contact the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office at (763)765-3500.
