Two people were killed after a police chase that started in Apple Valley, Minnesota, ended in a fiery crash in Burnsville on County Road 5 just north of Highway 13 on Monday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Apple Valley police were attempting to stop an Astro Van because it matched an alert from a hit-and-run crash in Savage. The van fled and led police officers on a chase through Burnsville.

The van crashed into a Toyota SUV on County Road 5 at approximately 8:25 p.m. The van struck a guide wire and damaged two power poles. The power lines came down on top of the van, sparking a fire.

Both the fleeing driver and another driver were killed in the crash and subsequent fire.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the innocent driver as Aida Leticia Sevilla O'Campo, 39, of Burnsville. The driver of the Astro Van was identified as Matthew Vogel, 22, of Bloomington.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
