Pilot dies in plane crash in southwestern Minn.

A 68-year-old man has died in a small plane crash in southwestern Minnesota, according to the Pipestone County Sheriff's Office.

Friday at 8:11 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a plane crash in Fountain Prairie Township in rural Ruthton, Minn.

Responders found a single passenger agricultural spray plane had hit a guy line structured radio tower and crashed into the ground.

The pilot, James Arnt of Worthington, Minn., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The plane and the tower were severely damaged.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will be assisting with the investigation.
