Arrest made in Pequot Lakes hit-and-run case

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist in Pequot Lakes, Minn. Wednesday evening.

Thursday at 4:00 p.m., police arrested 23-year-old Skylor Swenson of Breezy Point without incident. The arrest came after law enforcement asked the public's help to identify the driver of the truck involved in the crash.

The bicyclist, identified as 34-year-old Elizabeth Larson of Pequot Lakes, was riding her bike along the 5900 block of Wild Acres Road around 8:35 p.m. She had stopped on the side of the road and was waiting to cross when she was hit by a truck, causing her to be thrown over the hood and onto the roadway. Larson suffered multiple injuries and was flown to a nearby hospital.

The truck left the scene without stopping, despite witnesses’ attempts to catch the vehicle. Witnesses describe the driver as a younger man with glasses. They described the truck as a 1992-1996 Ford F150 single cab pickup with a two-tone possibly green or blue upper half over a tan lower half. The truck would have damage to the passenger side mirror.
