Pedestrian hit by car in St. Paul crosswalk dies 5 days later

A St. Paul woman has died after getting hit by a car while she was walking in a crosswalk, according to St. Paul Police.

The woman was crossing the street at Maryland Ave. and Greenbrier St. at 8:10 a.m. on May 23 when she was hit by a car. St. Paul Police told FOX 9, the woman passed away from her injuries this weekend. Police said the driver was cooperative with officials.

So far this year, there have been 63 crashes with pedestrians in St. Paul, according to an online data. This incident marks the first pedestrian fatality in 2016 in the city.
