Park set on fire in Cottage Grove, police looking for information

Cottage Grove police are looking for information on four reported arson incidents this month.

On Oct. 17, public safety responded to two porta potty fires near the paviollion at Kingston Park. On Oct. 21, public safety responded to a fire at Crestview Elementary where a blue bin was burning on the north side of the building. The bin appeared to have fireworks in it.

On Oct. 23, police responded to Kingston Park around noon on a report of arson. The playground equipment was burned overnight. The damage is estimated to be over $30,000. Following this, staff at Grey Cloud Elementary reported that there had been a fire in the dumpster overnight outside the school.

The Cottage Grove Public Safety Board is offering a $250 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.

Police believe someone has information about the suspect(s).
